Henna Pattern Behind the Ear

Now most people see a tattoo in this area and automatically make a painful face and say "Oooooooooooh, I know that HAS to hurt!!"

Believe it or not, it's actually one of the easiest places to get inked up. It's funny, there's always the same dramatic build up.  I try to tell my clients that it's not going to be as bad as they think but they never believe me until after I start!  The reaction is quite often one of surprise: No pain!

This one was especially fun to me because I got my start into the body art world through henna tattoos.  I learned how to do what was called "Black Henna" and "Traditional Henna" as well.  Both forms were key to my learning how to work with skin and how to work with people. Being good at art means nothing if you can't interact with clients and observers.  This set me up for a smooth transition into the permanent sector of skin art. I was used to people moving, breathing, coughing and shifting while working on them.  I'm very grateful to Matty Jankowski and Wes Wood for giving me the chance to start down this path I love so much!  I'd highly recommend temporary body art to anyone wanting to get into tattoos.

I wish people had a lot more patience these days!  Mastery of a skill takes a minimum of 10,000 hours.  Even after that, the learning process never ends.  That's why I love doing tattoos.  My clients get to benefit from my constant evolution towards being a better artist.
