The Homie "Tiger"

This is my little homie Tiger!  My lone survivor of a vicious Raccoon attack.  I had three chickens starting this season off, but I lost two of them to the Raccoons.  I made sure that no Coyotes or Foxes could get in and I knew that raccoons could climb, but I didn't think that they were killers. Good Ol Google let me know that they like to kill for fun! Who would have thunk it?

Tiger is an interesting bird.  She follows me around everyday as I water the gardens.  She wanders off a little distance to go all 187 on some bugs and grasses.  I get one light blue egg from her everyday.  I must say that eating eggs from a chicken that you feed and take care of is truly amazing!

Here's a little garden tip for you: Organic Chicken Poop(Simply meaning that your feed it organic food) is some of the best fertilizer out there.  So keeping a couple of chickens on deck benefits you in a couple different ways.  First, you get fresh organic eggs. Second, you get free fertilizer all year round.  Just scoop it in a bucket and let it dry. Top dress your plants with the poop and you'll see the magic happen.
