I Made it to Haystack Rock

One of my most favorite movies from my childhood was "The Goonies".  It fascinated me the first time I saw it.  The group of friends, the map, the Fratellis, Sloth, the truffle shuffle and One Eyed Willie!  There were so many elements of the movie that were magical to me.  

One of the elements of that movie that intrigued me was the town and area that the Goonies lived in.  I always wished that I could visit that place as a kid and never really thought about after I grew up.  When I recently booked a trip to Oregon, it worked out that I could actually go see Astoria! I got to drive up the coast and see all the gorgeous beaches.  It was beautiful scenery but it was super cold and raining.  Not a good combination for enjoying the beach.

Seeing Haystack Rock was a dream come true for me.  It felt surreal to actually take a picture of something that brought me so much joy as a kid.  It might be a little nerdy, but that's okay.
